The Riga College of Accounting and Finance is a private higher non-university education institution offering 3 professional study programmes. Our vision is to develop creative personalities by providing excellent business and finance education. The academic staff is blend of full-timers and practicioners, many of whom are known writers and lecturers. The College expands international relations pursuing the key objectives of European education and training systems and actively implementing provisions of Bologna Process in academic, research and other activities. The European objectives mentioned in the Bologna and Copenhagen declarations have to a great extent been fulfilled. All curricula are available in English and all programmes are described according to European standarts, ECTS, facilitating comparability of programmes at College with similar programmes abroad.
The objective of Riga College international cooperation is to improve the quality of studies and applied research and to ensure the compliance of College graduates skills with continuously chaning needs of international labour market, to implement good practice and experience of other countries and to compare the curricula. The College would like to participate in development projects focussing on the development of professional and education competences.
The strategy of international cooperation for the years 2009 - 2013 outlines the following internationalization areas:
- Two way mobility of students, teachers and administrative staff;
- Arranging international studies;
- Internationalization of study programmes of College;
- Delivery and participation in international projects;
- Use of opportunities of Lifelong Learning Programme.
The following is provided to ensure efficient dissemination of information on the opportunities of international cooperation, including Erasmus activities, inside the College:
- analyze, accumulate and disseminate information about foreign partners, international organizations and their activities, international events, projects and studies in foreign institutions to the College community;
- publicise and regulary update guideliness and information for College students planning to participate in mobility programmes on the College website www.koledza.lv
The following measures are provided for the creation of College image with the aim to inform foreign partners:
- publish and regulary update information on College website;
- encourage participation of College teachers, students and administrative staff members in international conferences;
- take part in international fairs and events promoting studies in College;
- maintain active membership in international associations and networks.
International cooperation strategy is developed and implemented pursuing the following principles and objectives:

Erasmus activities are emphasized in Riga College international startegy. The principles of Erasmus Univerity Charter will remain the keystone of these activities.
The quality and effeciency of Erasmus programm implementation will be ensured by monitoring the performance of international cooperation on student, academic staff, administration and international partner levels and applying quality standarts according to the existing and recognised quality system in College. The Quality system was implemented in 2004 and consists of 4 main criteria: 1) quality of studies content, 2) quality of college’s services (surveys on students satisfaction), 3) development of quality (regular estimation of stydy process, results, curricula,etc), 4) improvement of students knowledge. Use of ECTS and recognition of study periods and results will be estimated as always via cooperation with the Council of current Study Programm, consisting of representatives from employers, academical and administrative staff, non-governmental organisations and students.
Study programmes realized in the College will be introduced to foreign partners through international events, networks, website.
The College will consult outgoing students, information and documents will be placed on the College website and informative leaflets. Transparent and plain criteria publicly available on the College website will be applied during the selection of mobility program applicants. The selection will be carried out according to the principle of equal opportunities – no dicrimination on the basis of race, sex or social status. The classrooms are available for persons with special needs.
Taking into consideration the requirements of labour market there are plans to develop foreign language competences of College students by increasing the number of foreign languages taught and to motivate students to attend intensive language courses.
Teachers involvement in mobility programms will be encouraged by including mobility activities into the list of self-assesment as one of the most important measures of qualification.
